Chinweoke Adanna Okpalaji (MRS) (Secretary)


Chinweoke Adanna Okpalaji, was born on the 11th of November 1974. She graduated from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State in 1997, with a BSC in Business Administration.

Since her graduation, she has gained a wealth of experience, spanning 20 years in the Maritime, and Oil and Gas Sector. She has handled various job roles covering Personnel and Office Administration, Maritime Operations, Maritime Business Development, Contract Management and Quality Management.

During the course of her career, she received numerous professional certifications and trainings, which include, a Professional Diploma in Transport and Logistics from the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics UK, a certification in International Ships and Ports Security Code Training, as an Internal Auditor with American Bureau of Shipping, training as an Internal Auditor/Management Representative for the ISO 9001:2008/15 Standard, and other relevant training programmes attended, both Local and International.

She began her career with the Nigerian Shippers’ Council as an Administrative Officer from 2000 to 2002, and as a Maritime Officer, from 2002 to 2006. In 2006, she went on to join IBFC Augusto, as Head of Administration.

In 2007 she served as Business Development Consultant to Multimix Academy of Nigeria for the planning of their Supply Chain and Logistics Conference held in Lagos in the same year. From 2007 to 2012, she went on to join Peacegate Group, a Vessel owning company as Business Manager, and later joined Hyprops Nigeria Limited in July 2010, where she is the Senior Manager, Marine Business Development, a position she has held until date. She is a member of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA), and an Associate member of Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics (CITL) of Nigeria.

Her fascination with the state of the human mind and how this affects a human’s basic output whether personally or professionally, has been the driving force behind her current pursuit of an Msc. in Business Psychology (In view) from the University of South Wales. She hopes to be part of a larger group, that changes the narrative regarding mental Health, with the intention of breaking the stigma, and overturning unfavorable laws in Nigeria regarding the management of Mental Health. She is the Founder of, Heads Together Nigeria, a Mental Health Awareness Non-Governmental Organization.
