Engr. Akwugo Nnama (Programme Manager)

Engr. Nnama earned a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering Sciences (B.A., 2012) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering (B.Eng., 2013) from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, US. At Dartmouth, she was awarded a Name Engraved Dean’s plate for outstanding contributions to the Dartmouth community. Currently, she is pursuing a Master in Business Administration (MBA) at The Wharton School, at the University of Pennsylvania. At Wharton, she is one of the Co-Presidents of Wharton Africa Students Association (WASA). Prior to serving as president, she was one of the club’s Social Chairs. For the 2016 Wharton Africa Business Forum (WABF), she served as Co-Chair for Marketing Outreach, where she worked to ensure maximum conference attendance. Engr. Nnama also served as the African Panel Director for the 2016 Wharton Energy Conference (WEC). She is a 2018 Wharton Alumni Fellow and an active member of the Finance, Energy and Tennis Clubs.
Prior to Wharton, Engr. Nnama worked at Navigant Consulting as an Energy Efficiency Consultant. Her team performed energy efficiency and policy analysis in support of the United States Department of Energy’s (DOE) Appliance Standards program. The team supported DOE’s energy conservation standards and test procedure rulemakings for most appliances on the U.S. market. At Navigant, she earned a fast track promotion to Senior Consultant because she consistently delivered high quality work. Furthermore, her Appliance Standards team was awarded best in client services, company-wide.
Engr. Nnama attended Corona Secondary School Agbara, Ogun State, Nigeria. At Corona, she graduated as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2006 and was also the Head Girl. Engr. Nnama is very passionate about the economic and social development of Nigeria. She is particularly hoping to play an integral role in the transformation of the energy space. She believes that access to electricity will help improve the quality of life in Nigeria.
